Humanity  needs no reminder

Ruma is a  lecturer in the department of chemistry in Krishnanagar Govt . college. The other day when she was coming back home from Krishnanagar to Sealdah  by  local train, there were a few passengers in it.

It was in the month of July and the time  was around 8.30 pm. She chose a sit near the window. It was a three bogey compartment . At Kalyani station most of the passengers got down from the train . Only a  youth of around thirty did not leave it. He sat near the window of the other corner and looked outside. Suddenly rain set in . Soon it became a downpour.
She felt panicky for being lonely in the compartment and apprehended of something worst waiting for her. The train move on. Hardly had the train crossed Naihati  station when she fell in a trance. Perhaps it was for her long journey. Her eyes were about to get closed.

Heavy raindrops were coming in from outside. She was getting drenched. But her senses did not work. Perhaps she had got herself asleep. Suddenly she woke up  at a clattering noise. She  opened her eyes and found the youth who was sitting at the opposite corner standing in her close vicinity. She was a  about to shout . Then he are coming he humbly told: "madam, heavy showers are coming in though the windows and you are getting drenched. So i have shut down the window. I beg your pardon for invading your silence".
Then he removed himself to his previous position. Now she heaved a sigh of relief and the world in the same backet. He dared respond at the call of Humanity at the risk of being accused of  breaching the modesty of a lady. The journey continued on for another one hour. She found herself relaxed but failed to talk a single word, not even to stare at him. And finally she reached her destination  safely.
